ECE at NZSE

We started our very first 2015 class of early childhood education students this year in the National Certificate of Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 3). The blended delivery mode means that this programme is accessible to everyone who wants to study ECE. From school leavers to full times mums, we can make it work around you. We make it very simple for our students, they are only required to attend one class per week in our City Campus located on Queen Street. The rest of the course is delivered on-line in the comfort of the students own homes. Of course, our dedicated tutor Julie Dent is accessible at any time during the delivery and will provide tutor support from Campus.

We believe that practice makes perfect. In the next few weeks our students are going to venture into the real-world of ECE. This is part of the work experience component the programme offers. Students must complete 3 hours per week in an approved early childhood centre where they can put their class learning to the test and start getting real work experience and practice.

To ensure that students are prepared for this venture, the students have a repertoire of practical ideas to use during their work experience. Julie is building up a portfolio of stories, poems, finger plays and songs with the students to ensure they are prepared for this journey.

We are really looking forward to hear their feedback with regards to this exciting educational experience.
