Last Friday we celebrated Pink Shirt Day! Compliments, kindness and even a little bit of food was shared across our schools as students and staff stood together to stop bullying. We take this important message with us throughout the year to spread the love and ensure everyone at NZSE College and beyond feels supported. We hope you also had a great Pink Shirt Day and will continue to promote anti-bullying with us.
This week our Hamilton Campus students took initiative to host an amazing fundraiser breakfast for the Breast Cancer Foundation’s Pink Ribbon Breakfast event. The team took part in this national event to raise funds for breast cancer education, research, and patient support. From homemade apple crumbles and tropical punch to pink tutu skirts, fairy wings and cowboy hats, the students successfully raised over $400 for the Breast Cancer Foundation. Student organised-fundraising events have always been an important learning component in various programmes at NZSE, where they can gain the opportunities to apply communication, event management and project management skills in action. Thank you to everyone who attended, and well done to our students for making this possible and performing a worthwhile deed for charity. We are honoured to have such big-hearted students fronting community events like these to support wahine.
