What is your job title, and what does your work entail?
“I am a Senior Course Advisor at NZSE. My role is centred around helping students navigate their educational paths, making sure they have the resources and support they need to achieve their academic and career goals. I provide academic guidance and advice, I assist students with career planning, and I collaborate with other academic advisors, faculty, and administrative staff to enhance the overall student experience.”
If you were to study any of NZSE’s programmes, which one would you choose, and why?
“I would love to study the Graduate Diploma in Data Analytics (Level 7)! The demand for skilled data professionals is rapidly increasing across various industries – by receiving the diploma, I would be positioning myself at the forefront of this growing field. The programme would help me enhance my technical skills in areas such as statistical analysis, data visualisation, and machine learning. These skills are crucial for tackling modern-day data challenges and contributing effectively to data-driven projects. I would also love the opportunity to connect and network with industry professionals, faculty, and peers.”
Why should learners choose to study at NZSE? What are the unique aspects of NZSE?
“We make learning more joyful and memorable by providing academic advice and student support. We create an inclusive environment for all our domestic and international students, no matter who they are or where they come from. We love to embrace and celebrate the diversity at NZSE, and that is what makes the organisation unique.”
What do you find most rewarding about your role?
“Helping students navigate their educational paths, overcome challenges, and reach milestones in their academic journey brings me a great sense of accomplishment. Establishing meaningful connections with students, faculty, and colleagues is highly gratifying, and these relationships not only enhance the advising experience but also create a supportive community within our institution.
“I also really enjoy the problem-solving aspect of my role, whether it’s finding solutions to academic challenges, addressing issues, or helping students with unique needs. Each situation is an opportunity to make a positive difference.”

What advice would you give to someone who is unsure about what to study?
“I recommend that curious learners take some time to think about what subjects and activities genuinely interest them.
