Our Māori and Pasifika Student Support staff provide appropriate guidance and advice to our Māori and Pasifika students to respond to their individual needs. Students can discuss their educational, pastoral and cultural support needs in a confidential setting, and they may be guided to external agencies who we work closely with for suitable support.

Māori and Pasifika Scholarships
NZSE’s Turama Scholars Programme provides opportunities for Māori and Pacific peoples underrepresented in the workforce to make their start in areas they’re passionate in.
Māori and Pasifika Learners Committee
Our Learner Voice Committee has spaces for Māori and Pasifika students to support their peers and improve the wellbeing and success of students from these backgrounds.
Professional Development
It is important for all of our staff and students to recognise the importance of embracing Māori and Pasifika cultures in the workplace. That’s why NZSE staff have the chance to meet weekly and develop their connection to these cultures, allowing us to provide spaces and perspectives for our Māori and Pasifika learners and improve their experiences with us.
