Are you ready to rise-up and develop leadership skills such as assessing situations, making decisions and pursuing a career path be it military or defence? Enrol in our Vocational Pathways in Social and Community Service Sector (Level 2) and join a whānau-like environment where your success and wellbeing are fostered. With guidance from experienced tutors and with the friendships you develop, you’ll be prepared for the next step in your journey, whether that’s the NZ Army, Navy, Air Force or other service-oriented roles.

What you study
This programme focuses on your pathways to NZ Armed Forces and beyond. You’ll gain an understanding of how these organisations operate along with valuable skills other employers are looking for. You will:
- Gain literacy and numeracy credits
- Learn Civil Defense practices
- Participate in physical training and foot drills
- Learn of the New Zealand Cadet Forces and their activities
- Demonstrate teamwork and communication skills
- Safely handle firearms
Gain the fundamental literacy, numeracy and physical skills to prepare for starting a career in military and defense.

Entry requirements
- Be proficient in the English language (both written and spoken)
- Not hold NCEA or similar qualifications
- Enrolment is subject to an interview process
