When it comes to professional rugby league the Warriors certainly fit the definition, but how does the team perform at its best? It starts with each player looking after both their health and wellbeing, as students from NZSE’s School of ATC discovered when attending a ‘Warrior Workshop’, led by Ex-Warriors legend Jerry Seuseu. The full day workshop focused on why mental health and wellbeing are important essentials in your life, with tips and training offered by Ex Warrior legend Ruben Wiki.

The day started with Clifford Thompson, the Warrior’s wellbeing manager, giving the students a tour of the Warrior Headquarters. Students could see – up close – where the Warriors train every day; where they come up with each ‘game plan’.

Because a player’s wellbeing is essential – supporting their ability to perform at their best – Clifford explained that every day, when players arrive and leave from Warriors Headquarters, they walk in and out of the same door. This way, staff stationed at the door can check for changes in body language.
