NZSE College launches two new health programmes

NZSE launches new healthcare programmes
We are proud to announce the two new NZQA-approved programmes open for delivery at NZSE College:

Graduate Certificate in Healthcare (Level 7)

Designed as a direct pathway into postgraduate study, this bridging programme supports learners with a non-health degree, health-related qualification, or relevant experience. In just one semester, students gain foundational knowledge of healthcare systems, ethical practice, and culturally responsive approaches. Distance Online is only for domestic learners, and those international learners who are on a visa that allows for online [onshore] study. This programme will prepare learners to transition into advanced healthcare study.

Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare (Level 8) with specialisations in Mental Health, Community Health, Addiction

This year-long diploma equips learners with advanced knowledge and practical expertise to address complex health challenges in Aotearoa. With flexible study options (Distance Online is only for domestic learners, and those international learners who are on a visa that allows for online [onshore] study), students can specialise in mental health, community health, or addiction. Graduates will develop critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and evidence-based practice skills to design and implement innovative strategies that improve outcomes for individuals, whānau, and communities.

NZSE’s Director of Quality Assurance and Products Mary Waugh says that she feels great pride at the official approval of these two new programmes. “Graduates of these programmes will have the competency in their specialisation to support some of the most pressing challenges in our communities today. Through creating these high-quality pathways, NZSE is preparing a workforce ready to create lasting impact nationwide. Backed by the support of our industry stakeholders, graduates will go on to serve Aotearoa New Zealand with skill and dedication, both now and for generations to come,” says Waugh.

NZSE is thrilled to announce these programmes, which will address crisis areas in Aotearoa, like mental health and addiction. New Zealand needs skilled workers who can step forward with the expertise and compassion to improve health outcomes for individuals, whānau, and our communities.
