ATC Military Prep has smashed out another Terminator Challenge, tackling the ultimate test of grit, discipline and teamwork.
Held in Hamilton, the day-long competition mirrors the intensity of real-world military training, pushing students’ physical and mental strength to their limits. It’s not for the faint-hearted — our learners faced hours of demanding challenges, from squad runs and tyre dragging to tunnel leopard crawls and obstacle courses. Success depended on every student working as a unit.
Attendees were also privileged to watch the drill competition, where teams marched as one to complex commands. The precision was outstanding, and the crowd was amazed when one group spelt out ATC with their bodies during their routine. To end the day, ATC performed the school’s very own haka. ATC AUĒ!
Terminator encourages a spirit of competitiveness and camaraderie between students from our Hamilton, Manukau and Tauranga campuses. Learners across all programmes have trained hard for this day, building the fitness and strength to excel in their future careers in the New Zealand Defence Force and other uniformed services.
“With nearly 100 students from ATC’s uniformed services and security programmes taking part, Terminator is one of many activities ATC embeds into its curriculum to help build character in our future service people,” says Head of Tertiary Pathways Fau Tiatia.
“It’s an honour to watch our learners grow into leaders throughout their time with us — and Terminator is always a standout moment to see that transformation in action.”
