Becoming a first aid responder means you could save a life or reduce the severity of injury when an accident has occurred. Gain essential first aid skills or take a refresher in your First Aid training with our First Aid course.
This course provides learners with the ability to demonstrate First Aid knowledge and equip you with practical skills to handle a variety of situations where people require basic life support and First Aid. This course is ideal for anyone who wants to learn the basics of First Aid and for first aiders in the workplace.
What you study
You’ll gain the knowledge and skills required to pass the relevant unit standards applicable to First Aid training and certification. The following subjects will be covered:
- Identifying and managing hazardous situations
- Risk mitigation
- Responses for dealing with a collapsed person
- CPR for adults, children and infants
- Shock and bleeding, burns, fractures, soft tissue injuries, and poisonings
- Heart attack, asthma, stroke, seizure, and diabetes
Entry requirements
- Over 14 years old
- Able to kneel on the floor to do CPR
- Able to complete assessments in English (both spoken and written).
