The Master of Data Analytics (Level 9) is designed for professionals ready to lead the forefront of data-driven innovation in New Zealand. It equips you with the skills to turn complex datasets into strategic intelligence that drives organisational growth and shapes decision-making at the highest level. Through a blend of rigorous academic theory and hands-on application, you’ll explore AI, predictive analytics, and enterprise business intelligence, tackling real-world challenges that mirror the demands of industry. Learners gain experience designing scalable AI solutions, navigating ethical and regulatory frameworks, and applying advanced strategies in resource allocation, change management, and performance evaluation. Graduates will be equipped for a variety of employment options or pursue further study at a doctoral level, positioning themselves as leaders in the rapidly evolving field of data analytics.

Digital device requirements:


Learners are required to have a suitable device (BYOD) for their study. Learners are required to have
access to a reliable internet connection and a data usage plan that will allow them to sign into the 
NZSE’s Learning Management System (LMS), Canvas, upload and download files including video.
The delivery of this programme will be through Microsoft Teams and NZSE’s Canvas LMS. Hence, the 
following device requirements apply:

▪ Devices used in this programme require at least the following specifications: Windows 11 
Pro 64-bit ver 24H2
▪ Intel i7 14th Gen 8 core OR AMD Ryzen 7 5000 series 8 core
▪ Dedicated Mobile GPU with 6GB or bigger
▪ More than 16GB RAM
▪ 1024GB (1TB) SSD
▪ Connectivity Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax
▪ 15.6-inch screen
▪ Built-in webcam and microphone 
▪ Wireless/Bluetooth Business headset with noise cancelling boom mic
▪ Wireless/Bluetooth external USB Mouse
▪ A current and updated Internet/Online Security solution needs to be used at all times.

Not supported: Other devices will not meet the requirements for this programme’s delivery e.g., macOS 
devices, Windows devices with ARM CPUs (like Qualcomm), smart phones, tablets, etc. 
Only those learners enrolled as ‘online’ learners will be able to use a desktop computer. Blended 
learners will be required to bring their own high-end laptop to campus

Graduates of this Master’s degree will have achieved study output to an advanced standard including a research component and may be considered for admission to a programme of advanced study and/or original research leading to a Doctoral Degree.
