NZSE College reached a milestone today as we proudly welcomed our first group of learners to our inaugural NZ Diploma in Engineering (Electrical Engineering) (Level 6). This new programme is designed for students to pursue a wide range of career opportunities in Aotearoa as an electronics engineering technician, and it will provide learners with a pathway to further study options such as Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Electrical) or Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronics).
As the only private tertiary establishment to offer this programme, we are looking forward to seeing our students flourish and succeed throughout the course. The programme is accredited under Dublin Accord, meaning students will receive international recognition of their engineering technician qualifications once they graduate. This accreditation fosters academic recognition and provides further opportunities for our graduates outside of their study.
The students in our first cohort come from diverse backgrounds – from Mexico to the Philippines – and enjoyed a warm welcome of a karakia, an orientation presentation, and student introductions with icebreakers and a morning tea.
NZSE Group Academic Director, Dr Neel Pandey, is excited to see the students continue their academic journey in this inaugural programme. “This programme is practical, hands-on, and is designed to meet industry needs. The graduates will be able to work as electronic technicians in a wide range of sectors. We are surrounded by electronics in our life – it is an incredibly valuable course for our students.”
