NZSE strengthens China ties with approval for two joint programmes

In a significant milestone for NZSE college, NZSE has officially received approval from the Chinese Ministry of Education for two Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education Programmes (Joint Education Programmes) between Zhangjiakou Vocational and Technical College and Nanjing Polytechnic Institute.

These approvals are the result of more than two years of collaboration between NZSE and our Chinese partner institutions, involving programme design, curriculum mapping, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, multiple rounds of documentation and approval, and close cooperation with education authorities in both New Zealand and China.

In 2023, China’s Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng visited New Zealand and participated in several key events to strengthen educational and cultural ties between the two countries, followed by a visit by his Excellency Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council in 2024.

In that same year, NZSE founder Mr Brijesh Sethi, representing QTI, and NZSEG Group CEO, Wendy Liao, attended the China Annual Conference & Expo for International Education in Beijing, which provided further opportunity to spotlight the quality of New Zealand’s education system and deepen bilateral ties.

The approval of our Joint Education Programmes demonstrates NZSE’s commitment to international education and strengthens our long-term partnership with Chinese institutions. It will create more opportunities for Chinese students to access New Zealand education through approved transnational education pathways, overseas delivery, and provide the opportunity to exchange our strong knowledge base between our two countries.

We look forward to working with our education partners to provide more opportunities for learners in both countries for decades to come.
