Sidra Siddiqui is our Careers Pathways Advisor and is available to help you on your journey. Sidra has 12 years of experience in Recruitment and Talent Development across diverse industries, with seven of those years focused on enhancing learner capabilities within the education sector.
Our vision is to guide you in unlocking your career potential. We do this by helping you navigate your journey through:
- Employability workshops: attend one of our many sessions that cover valuable insights into Aotearoa’s job market and how to write the perfect résumé. Take advantage of our Licensed Immigration Advisers who attend as guest speakers to offer expert insights on current policies and pathways.
- One-on-one career mentoring: our expert team will show you how to build professional online profiles on LinkedIn to attract potential employers and highlight your skills and experiences. This will also include portfolio development to help showcase your work, projects, key skills, and volunteer contributions.
- Opportunities to engage with industry experts: we host guests from a wide range of industries to attend our events – they are experts on salaries, job market trends, skill shortages and demands, and the top emerging industries. Get networking and expand your connections!
- Listings and industry experience: we will help identify available work experience and volunteering opportunities relevant to your interests and field of study. Take advantage of our huge database of industry connections that will show you how to utilise your network to provide leads on potential opportunities. We will support you by connecting you with professionals who might offer internships, apprenticeships, or volunteer positions.
- Job interview and application guidance: we will assist you with crafting and tailoring your résumé and cover letter to highlight your relevant skills and experience, making a stand-out impression on recruiters. Our team will conduct mock interviews to prepare you for real interviews, focusing on commonly asked questions and how to effectively respond and showcase your talent.
- Receive career support during and after your study: we will pair you with a career counsellor to discuss your goals and interests, and how to forge the best path to achieve these ambitions. Discover alternative career options that complement your experience and skills and we will help you analyse your diverse options.
