NZSE brings energy, fitness, and educational fun to Wiri Licensing Trust Funfest 2025

Did you catch NZSE College at the Wiri Licensing Trust Funfest 2025 from 16 – 19 January?

Hosted at the Due Drop Events Centre in Manukau, NZSE connected with thousands of families at our interactive and educational stall. Attendees had the chance to speak with course advisors about NZSE’s diverse programmes, take home flyers, and participate in plenty of fun challenges and activities.

Funfest was a celebration of community, connection, and opportunity. With free carnival rides, face painting, live entertainment, and a bustling food court, the festival also raised funds for BBM Motivation (Buttabean Motivation), a charity dedicated to helping people achieve their health, fitness, and life goals.
Our staff team was thrilled to see the community delight in NZSE’s push-up challenge, inspired by our active ATC Military Prep programmes. Kyezar, pictured below, claimed the top spot with an impressive 120 push-ups, winning a $100 gift card. And we have to give a special shout-out to 55-year-old Nana Tam, who visited the NZSE tent with her mokopuna to learn about ATC programmes for her nephew in Samoa and set a remarkable score of 51 push-ups.

NZSE’s healthcare tutors also conducted CPR demonstrations, provided first aid tips, and offered blood pressure and heart rate checks. Primary-aged children were fascinated by the CPR techniques on our health school dummies, and parents benefited from the refresher.

Lastly, we would be remiss not to mention the popular dancing robot at our stall. The rhythmic-inclined android came from NZSE’s School of Technology and engaged in dance battles and one-arm push-ups across the four days. What a showoff!
